Members of the commissioned staff are cautioned against forming close attachments to the enlisted men under their direct command, doubly so when in a field position. As an officer of the most disciplined fighting force in the western united states, your duty is to your superiors, your honor, and your country. In the course of duty it may be necessary to follow orders that result in the death of men under your command. You are expected to follow these orders unhesitatingly, as befits a leader of your stature.
